Kayak Put-In Info for: Dumbarton Bridge, Newark
Overview: The launch is part of the Don Edwards National Wildlife Preserve, as is Jarvis Landing. According to Carla at the Don Edwards office launching here is not permitted.
Parking: LOTS OF PARKING. BEACH FRONT PARKING ALL THE TIME AND ITS FREE.

Directions: From Highway 84 in Newark, Take the Paseo Padre Pkwy/Thornton Ave exit. Head South on Thornton Ave for about 0.7 miles. Turn left on the little road (Marshlands Road) that goes into the park. Take this road to the end.
Cautions: You got to be Brave to Launch here. There are plenty of Rats in the Past. Really there is nothing to see there but the 84 Bridge and Mud Flats. I have fished on the Pier for old Boots and Sting rays and really That is why it is Called "Dumb"Barton because you are to broke to Fish for Toxic Fish any where else and get Drunk.
