Kayak Put-In Info for: Benicia State Recreation Area, Benicia
Overview: Part of California state park system, waterfront includes marsh lands along Southampton Bay and rocky shoreline on the Carquinez Strait.
Parking: Ample paved parking; CA State Parks fee or annual day use pass required.
Facilities: Vault toilets, water fountain. Interpretive signs.
Amenities: Hiking trails through marshland and on hills at Dillon Point. Paved bicycle trails.
Directions: Main park entrance is off the Columbus Parkway exit, but *potential* water access is at the West Military Rd exit off I-780. Park driveway is off West K Street.
Cautions: Better off using another spot in Benicia for Kayaks b/c if the tide is out you have go to trek through 50 feet of mud.
Sign says to pay $6, but I don't think you have to.
